Sept 19-21,2025
Newfane VT
GUIDES:
Julia Hampton is a Non-Diet Nutritionist and Eating Coach who specializes in helping people who feel anxious or out-of-control around food find confidence and ease in eating to support their wellbeing. She has a BA in social work and a MS in nutrition and dietetics. She runs her own practice, Nourishing Vitality, LLC, providing personalized nutrition counseling and motivational interviewing training.
Jen Frey is a Yoga and Meditation Teacher and Sleep Coach. She instructs her own classes out of her yoga studio, Village Yoga in Newfane Vermont and serves as a lead instructor for the Fluid Yoga School. Her mindfulness offerings include therapies focused on the yogic teachings as well as techniques to resolve chronic insomnia. She became a certified sleep coach in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). She now coaches one on one and group chronic insomnia sufferers.
Finding Balance allows us to find the middle ground where peace, ease, compassion and freedom are the feelings from which we respond in our daily life.
It is a process of connecting with our body and inner wisdom, coming into the present moment to listen and respond to what we need now, instead of pushing through.
The concept of Finding Balance developed through conversations about how we ourselves, and our clients, often flip flop from one extreme to another - hyper focused on getting things done, producing, performing, eating “right,” and then crashing, numbing out, giving up, falling off the wagon.
Finding Balance is building our awareness of subconscious thoughts, nervous system responses and habitual patterns that we can deconstruct to make space for more consciously choosing how we want to think, feel and act.
In our Finding Balance retreat we combined mindful yoga, meditation, eating awareness practice and information on nutrition, intuitive eating, nervous system regulation and sleep. Through embodiment practice, personal sharing and discussion people experience a transformation in thinking and relating to themselves and their body.

**An Eating Awareness Practice is a way to become aware of the complexities involved in our everyday eating experiences. What influences our choice of foods? What creates satisfaction? How do we know how hungry or full we are? How does our evaluation of our choices and actions impact how we feel about food and ourselves? When we take the time to be curious we open the opportunity for self-compassion and more conscious choices.
***Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation technique and type of meditation. This guided practice creates a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping that helps to transform the mind and body.
